The Rolling Mill Reducer is a core transmission device in a steel rolling production line. Its main function is to convert the high speed of the electric motor into the low speed and high torque power required by the rolling mill rolls to achieve the rolling deformation of the metal billet. Unlike general industrial reducers, this equipment is specifically designed for the high impact loads, continuous operation, and harsh environment (high temperature, high dust) of steel rolling. Its gears are typically made of high-strength low-carbon alloy steel (such as 20CrMnTi) and undergo carburizing and quenching treatment, achieving a tooth surface hardness of HRC58-62, with significantly better wear resistance and fatigue strength than ordinary gears. Structurally, it often adopts a hardened gear surface and modular housing design. The housing is mostly a cast iron or cast steel welded structure, and stress relief treatment is used to ensure rigidity. Its core advantages lie in high torque density (achieving torque output in a compact space through multi-stage gear distribution), precise speed ratio control (transmission ratios ranging from 5:1 to thousands, adapting to different rolling speed requirements), and excellent environmental adaptability (protection level up to IP65, withstanding ambient temperatures from -40℃ to 45℃). Furthermore, the reducer's internal lubrication system uses circulating oil or long-life grease. Key components, such as eccentric sleeves, allow for fine-tuning of shaft positions to reduce clearance wear, ensuring the stability of the rolling process and extending equipment lifespan.
